Mechanics Clinics

The clinic will be similar in each of the five clinic locations.

BRING A PEN OR PENCIL – YOU WILL NEED IT FOR THE EXAM AND AND NOTES YOU WANT TO TAKE.

  • First, second and third year umpires attend for the full day.
  • Senior umpires (fourth year and older) are encouraged to attend in the morning, when we will be focusing on Plate and Base Umpire mechanics, and will utilize our experienced umpires to help as spotters during some of the drills.
  • Rulebooks will be handed out to new umpires.
  • Also attached to this email is a First Year Umpires Guide. It includes much of the information that we will cover during the clinic, on mechanics and other topics, and will be an important resource during the season. And it is a great resource for umpires of all levels of experience.
  • First year umpires receive a CASUA crested umpire shirt.
  • The umpire registration fee is to be paid prior to or at the clinic. Fees are unchanged from 2024: $110 for first or second year umpires, $140 for Level 2 umpires, $150 for Level 3 and $160 for Level 4.
    • You can pay by etransfer at any time prior to the clinic to the following email: [email protected]. Deposit will occur automatically, and no security phrase or password is required.
    • You can pay by cash (exact change please) or cheque (payable to CASUA) at the clinic.
    • Prepayment is preferred so the clinic can start on time.
  • Lunch is included at the clinic from Subway. We will have breaks for snacks in the morning. If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know ASAP. There will be some beverages provided, but please bring your own water bottle.
  • Please dress comfortably, and bring good indoor shoes for moving around. There is no need to bring a ball glove or anything like that (our experience is that’s something that often gets forgotten at the end of the day!)

REMEMBER THE PENCIL OR PEN!
